Friday, February 12

This month's 12 of 12 was such fun to do. Several people from the digital photography group I belong to joined me to take photos of Tulsa landmarks. When I got home and loaded my photos, I realized my favorites had very little to do with landmarks. Oh, well, it was an awesome day, and I hope you like what I saw.

We met at Tally's Good Food Cafe, a neat old restaurant at the corner of 11th and Yale in Tulsa. They serve a cinnamon roll that literally covers a plate. Five of us ate off of it and still didn't finish it. 10:04 a.m.

We stopped to take pictures of the neon sign at El Rancho Grande when these buds caught my eye. At least this tree thinks spring is on its way. 11:23 a.m.

At El Rancho Grande - Happy Valentine's Day - 11:27 a.m.

The back of an old building across the street from El Rancho Grande - 11:34 a.m.

We spent a good part of our day of Route 66 - 11:45 a.m.

I love this old light fixture, which is hanging in the entrance hall to the Warehouse Market, built in 1930 - 12:32 p.m.

Day & Nite Cleaners, Art Deco building across from the Warehouse Market - built in 1946 - 12:36 p.m.

Arnie's Bar in the Blue Dome District of Tulsa - 12:58 p.m.

In the back room of the Blue Dome Cafe, where we stopped for lunch - 1:57 p.m.

Sweet, sweet dog at a house along Swan Lake - 4:12 p.m.

Pretty berries along Swan Lake - 4:15 p.m.

In Swan Lake - 4:20 p.m.

That's all for this month. Funny how the best laid plans can change so quickly. Maybe I'll do landmarks another month.

Beautiful post. Your pictures all have a lot of emotion attached to them, that's not easy to do. Nice 12. :)

Aww, what a great 12! Makes me miss my hometown. :) I love all of Tulsa's art deco stuff and my parents used to always take my sister and me through Swan Lake whenever we went to look at Christmas lights.

Hi Sunny, as always beautiful photos. I particularly like the door on Arnie's Bar for some reason, it just seems to really stand out.

See you next month (unless I've been killed by a Glee overdose)! :)

Your photos seemed to transport me back in time - that diner! The cleaners!
The nature shots turned out perfect, too.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sunny, these are wonderful!!!
I love the mood you created by desaturating some of your shots & putting others in black&white. What a FUN day...
Thank you again for inviting us to join you.

What a lovely dog! And the berries photo is my favourite I think - looks a great day out shooting historic places, always fun for a photographer ;-)
